SUMMARY: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing efficient and safe transportation for patients requiring medical services at local or out of the area facilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Operate the ambulance/back-up unit at a satisfactory level as needed to provide safe and efficient transportation for patients requiring medical services at local or out of the area facilities.Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the main geographical area of operations and surrounding areas, including all housing projects, rural homes, receiving hospitals, businesses, etc.Demonstrate the ability to safely operate the ambulance/back-up unit in all types of weather, terrain, and road conditions.Identify the location of all equipment on the ambulance and be responsible for conducting and completing an ambulance check sheet.Clean and decontaminate the ambulance after each run and ensure that each ambulance/back-up run is appropriately documented.Maintain confidentiality of patient and hospital matters, and use proper channels of communication/chain of command.Maintain good time and attendance records, participate in staff meetings and projects, and maintain a positive attitude toward position and co-workers.Work all shifts assigned, which may include weekends, nights, and holidays, and be flexible with working schedules subject to frequent interruptions.Work as a team member, with flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with all patients, family members, co-workers, public, etc.Be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
