Bar Manager – The Paris Cafe | The Seaport District, NYC

The Paris Cafe is seeking a skilled and thoughtful Bar Manager to lead our beverage program at our historic Seaport location. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who brings both technical expertise and a genuine passion for hospitality, setting the tone behind the bar, and cultivating a warm, welcoming, and high-performing environment for their team and our guests in a flex-position as floor manager, as needed .

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring quality, consistency, and cleanliness
  • Lead, train, and support a tight-knit bar team through clear communication and mutual respect
  • Maintain beverage inventory, place orders, and manage vendor relationships
  • Collaborate on cocktail development and maintain product standards across menus
  • Ensure compliance with health codes, DOH standards, and liquor laws
  • Uphold a welcoming and safe environment for guests and staff alike
  • Work closely with FOH and BOH leadership to support smooth service
  • Monitor labor, bar cost, and waste to hit financial targets
  • Support and train staff on wine knowledge, spirits education, and proper service etiquette

Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of bar leadership in a full-service restaurant in NYC establishments
  • Experience managing event/nightlife forward establishments
  • Strong knowledge of wine (bonus points for French wines!), spirits, and cocktail technique
  • Experience with inventory systems, ordering, and cost control
  • Experience using Toast
  • Confident trainer and mentor with a calm, clear communication style
  • Working knowledge of NYC liquor laws and DOH compliance
  • Commitment to hospitality, team equity, and guest satisfaction
